With the inauguration coming up, a lot of people are going to be celebrating Barack Obama as the first African-American president. With no disrespect to Mr. Obama and his unique multicultural heritage, I feel it important to set the record straight: Warren G. Harding, the namesake of my beloved Institute, was in fact, the first African-American president. One need look no further than the New York Times. I spent the holidays with our benefactor, Clifford Harding III, and he authorized me to spread what until now was mostly a family secret. He said, “The family is ready to come clean about how proud we’ve always been of our great uncle’s contribution to the mosaic of American diversity.” As President Harding himself once said, “America’s present need is not heroics, but healing; not nostrums but normalcy; not revolution, but restoration.”
So on January 20th, let’s all remember: Before Obama. Before Clinton. There was Harding.
I just wanted to let everybody know that I’ll be hosting and analyzing incoming President Barack Obama’s inaugural speech on January 20, 2009, in Park City, Utah. I’ll also be making an announcement on behalf of the Harding family congratulating incoming President Obama, and acknowledging the long-standing rumor that Warren G. Harding was actually the first African-American president. I’ll be available for interviews and analysis at:
Treasure Mountain Inn
255 Main St.
Park City, Utah
9:30am-Noon, January 20, 2009
Washington is being dominated by the false euphoria of the nation’s liberal elite this week, so I felt that I would be at home in the solidly red state of Utah where I could give a more objective analysis of this important day. I’ve been authorized to spread the message that the Harding family is ready to come clean about how proud they’ve always been of the 29th president’s contribution to the mosaic of American diversity.
It was an honor having dinner with Barack Obama and some of my fellow neocons last night. It’s always great to see George Will, Charles Krauthammer, Bill Kristol, and David Brooks again, and especially after we’re finally starting to get our grounding after the election. I think the neo-con-munity will find a way to try to build bridges with the Obama Administration, and given the cabinet he’s appointed, I suspect we’ll find considerable common ground. Obama, himself, was very gracious with his time and his consideration for our viewpoints, especially those of us who were perhaps not always the most complimentary towards him during the election.I’ll say this for him; he’s a good listener, and that will serve him well, as it did Eisenhower and Ford.
It was terrific being in George’s house again - he’s got the most amazing collection of baseball artifacts, so naturally, with this crowd, the conversation veered towards the upcoming Think Tank Softball League, and Will’s consideration of taking over as commissioner. Not sure he will ultimately, but the League could use a strong hand to guide us. (Heritage has been running roughshod with the rules the last two seasons.) Otherwise, I’m sworn to secrecy on any substantive policy issues that were discussed at the dinner.
Inside Source of “Game-Changing” Palin/Africa Story Debunks Accusations He’s “A Fraud” in Scorched-Earth Presidential Campaign Tell-All
I AM MARTIN EISENSTADT: One Man’s Barely Legal Adventures with the Last RepublicansSet for May 2009 Publication
Faber and Faber, Inc., an affiliate of Farrar, Straus and Giroux, will publish a presidential campaign tell-all book written by the famed political pundit, strategist, and campaign consultant Martin Eisenstadt. Eisenstadt, a senior fellow at the Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy in Washington, D.C., rose to international prominence just after the election as the admitted source of the leak that Sarah Palin “didn’t know Africa was a continent.” This game-changing newsbreak leaked from behind the scenes after a debate-coaching session for Palin was picked up by FOX News, MSNBC, The Huffington Post, and other major media. During the campaign, Eisenstadt was called on and quoted as a McCain adviser by CBS News, Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, and other media in stories relating to Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, and Paris Hilton.
“I’m delighted to have an opportunity to put to rest the disinformation put out by The New York Times that the Palin/Africa claims are a hoax and that I myself am the creation of two opportunistic filmmakers, Eitan Gorlin and Dan Mirvish,” said Eisenstadt. “Even CNN’s ‘Reliable Sources’ perpetuated this ridiculous canard. The story has been picked up around the world. It’s time to clear my name and set the record straight.”
Mitzi Angel, publisher of Faber and Faber, Inc., tracked down Eisenstadt and signed up the book. Richard Abate at the Endeavor Agency represented the author. I AM MARTIN EISENSTADT: One Man’s Barely Legal Adventures with the Last Republicans will be published as a trade paperback original in May 2009.

And for those of you who still don’t believe I exist, I am posting (with my assistant Danny’s help) excerpts from “The Last Republican”, a BBC documentary about the waning days of the McCain campaign. As my words were often misconstrued in the documentary, I am also posting excerpts from my rebuttal.
